Puerto Rico's Social Action Fellowship
The Program for the Empowerment and Retention of Agents of Change (PARACa): Third Sector Economic Development, better known as PARACa Annual, in partnership with AmeriCorps VISTA is a social action internship program for young professionals or recent graduates recognized for their leadership and sense of responsibility for Puerto Rico. The program is focused on organizational capacity building and systematic strengthening of non-profit organizations in Puerto Rico.
The opportunity is aimed at young professionals or recent graduates interested in developing professionally in the public sector. The program aims to train the next generation of development professionals, amplifying their knowledge of the third sector in Puerto Rico, and capacity building. The experience consists of 12 months working full-time in the development department of a non-profit organization. At the same time, they receive training in the areas of capacity building, fundraising, communications, leadership, and social awareness.

Requierments:

be abel to work fulltime (40 hr wk) for a year.

Be an American citizen

Have at least 18 of age.

Live in Puerto Rico during the year of service.

Be interested in working with the nonprofit sector in Puerto Rico.
Benefits:

Living allowance $14,960 annual

End of year stipend ($1,800) or education award ($6,345.00)

Onsite training on leadership and economic development in the social sector (80 hr)

Evaluation process
Step 1: Application
To complete the application, go to: https://podio.com/webforms/21939729/1534209 which will evaluate your professional profile, social interests, and availability for the year. You must complete it on or before October 30, 2021.
Step 2: MPA Interview
If you pass the application, you will be called for an interview with the MPA staff where we will seek to learn more about your preparation. In this way, we will be able to match you with the most suitable service center for you.
Step 3: AmeriCorps VISTA Application
Once you have completed the above application processes, you will move on to complete the VISTA form which will include a background check and two professional references. This process must be completed to receive AmeriCorps VISTA benefits.
Step 4: Interview with the Sponsor site
In this second interview, we seek to ensure that you can meet the expectations of the internship center and vice versa.
